May 16th Workshop

Today we had our very first Gro Crew of Atlanta workshop at TNT Skatepark. We had over 15 girls show up ranging from 6 years old all the way up to 49. The girls learned a lot of new things from how to ride a skateboard to actually dropping in on the ramps. Good job to all of the girls that came out, you guys did great and I hope to see you next month! Keep shredding!

About Girls Riders Organization

Girls Riders Organization (GRO) is a nonprofit group launched in 2006 on a mission to inspire, educate and support girls in action sports. Touring the country bringing nonexclusive events and opportunities designed for females by females too more girls coast to coast to anyone. All girls, all ages and all skill levels are encouraged to participate. GRO strives to make skateboarding more accessible, providing equipment, experienced instructors and a safe and positive environment. Then through our ongoing network of support, we are building membership based Local Gro Crews to further community involvement and provide well-rounded opportunities all year long.

2009 marks our fourth year on tour reaching out to girls of all ages and skill levels, building support for current riders and bringing a new opportunity for others. Since 2006 we have worked one on one with over 1400 girls. We hope to double that number this year reaching more girls with skateboarding coast to coast than ever before.
